Yes, I know this title is
very a tad bit misleading, but let me dream a little okay? Not all of us were able to fit NYFW into our busy schedules… but this past weekend, I was given the opportunity to hit the runway myself in the annual elle boutique and Diana Warner Studio fashion show. (Thank goodness I didn’t trip!) Needless to say, I had an absolute blast. After the show was over I didn’t even want to take off all the colorful, bright spring clothes! How could I go back to bundling up after taking a “mini-vacation” in these pieces?! Now you’ve heard me rant and rave about how much I adore Diana Warner jewelry, (whose spring designs are completely swoonworthy), but I must introduce you to the gem that is elle boutique. Elle is one of the most positively charming boutiques in Knoxville, carrying lines like Trina Turk, Three Dots, Ella Moss, Language, Alice & Trixie… you know- the works. I drooled over every piece that floated down the runway. Now Spring and Summer just need to hurry on up. Have a wonderful weekend!
Loving everything from elle this season…
*sorry for the quality of some photos- sometimes it was easier to just snap a picture with my iphone!
This is one of those trends, that I’m just not sure if I’m comfortable with- quite yet. It makes you second guess yourself. Like would people think- “Oh my word. Did that girl just forget to put on a shirt and then proceed to go out in public?!” Well the answer here, my dears, is no. The “bra top” trend has been jumping out at me left and right, from my favorite magazines and stores, to designers like Emersonmade (shown above) and Topshop (shown below).
These “tops” (if you even want to really call them that) come in all shapes and sizes. I personally think the Emersonmade one is absolutely darling, and the pairing of the cardigan and high-waisted skirt is utter perfection- the scalloped edges are just too cute too! But if you want to go simple- stick to a solid colored, seamless sports bra-like top- like the one from Urban shown below. Simple enough, right?
I think the key here when pulling off a trend like this is just making sure that modesty is the best policy. As in- throw on a cardigan or blazer over your tiny top and leave your extra low-waisted shorts and skirts at home. Even layering one under sheer tops can be a great way to break into the trend.

Happy Valentine’s day darlings!
How cute are these kate spades e-valentines?! I sent out a couple of these myself, and you should get in on the action too. Tell me, what are your plans for tonight? Dinner with the bf? Movie marathon with the gals? I’d love to hear!
So many fabulous things have been happening lately. NY fashion week’s in full swing, the Grammy’s took place last night (rather than my studying…), and heck, I even got to be in a fashion show myself this weekend! More pictures and details to come, but here’s a little preview…
This much color would send anyone into Spring fever.
Thank you Diana Warner for being so ah-mazing at what you do. Picked up these beauties this weekend and my ears couldn’t be happier. And this particular pair just happens to be the EXACT pair on the set of Gossip Girl. As in Little J wore them. Can you tell I’m just a tad bit excited? If you remember this post, I gave them a whirl while at the store, but now I can proudly claim them as mine.
Glitz and glamour. Color and couture. It’s the little things in life that just make me smile. So I’m going to leave you with a few pictures that I just can’t seem to get out of my mind. Because who doesn’t need a pair of cheetah print heels as fab as those? And one can never have too many Chanel quilted bags.
Happy fashion week everyone!! I’m living vicariously through those of you that have the lucky chance to attend at least one of those fabulous shows! Maybe someday… but here’s to a happy weekend to all!
p.s. If any of you darlings are local readers, I invite you to stop by the 4th annual Diana Warner and elle boutique fashion show tonight from 8pm-10pm at the Remedy Coffee House in the Old City. Plus, there will be dessert and drinks! Aaaand I get to walk in it, so if anything, come support! xo

I really can’t take credit for this dress. One of my absolute favorite bloggers, Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere sported this same frock in this post, where she paired it with a black blazer, nude heels, and red lips. When I found it just days later at the Forever 21 in my hometown, I immediately knew I wasn’t leaving the store without it and decided to give a whirl at styling it up myself. I’ve been all about bows lately, and this purchase was no exception. Combine bows and bright colors and you’ve got me hooked. Yellow is my favorite color. It’s the color of this darling, cropped RL jacket that makes its appearance all too often in my wardrobe. It’s the color of my bedspread. It’s the color of my favorite fruit. And yes, it’s even the color of my car. Just take a guess at what kind of car I have. I promise it’s cute! Hope ya’ll have had a great week so far!
Many of you know of my addiction to J. Crew. It’s hard for me to walk into that darn store and not love everything inside. Yes, it can be a little pricey, but I’ve somehow managed (with a little help from my student discount…). Of course my favorite piece from this collection is the first dress pictured… because well, it’s one shoulder (which I love), it’s a dress (which I love), and hello, it’s orange (you guessed it, which I love). In my opinion, and at least in east Tennessee, you can never EVER have too much orange in your wardrobe, therefore this little number will be the perfect addition. Pair it with a brown woven belt around the waist to give it a little shape, throw on some wedges (I’m thinking the ones I have here) and you’ve got your perfect gameday outfit. A little too early to be thinking ahead to college football season? I think not.
-Check out those absolutely darling high-waisted pink shorts. The bow. The slightly scalloped edges. LOVE.
-The romper is back for another season, and I, for one, couldn’t be happier!
-Citrus and coral prints. These colors also make for a great transition into fall. Once again, Go Big Orange!
Let’s be honest. I won’t be throwing on a fancy frock to meet my sweetie for a little wining and dining this lovely Valentine’s day. But if I was… I think it might look a little something like this, and if you look reeeally closely at the dress, it even has teeny, tiny little hearts all over it. How much more festive can you get? And hey, just because you may not have found your knight in shining armor YET, doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the holiday and dress up in red! He’s out there somewhere, he’s just not quite ready for you. But there’s plenty of time between now and the 14th…
